Our Savior’s ministry for youth in grades 7-12 is called Café 4:12. The name Café 4:12 is based upon two themes:

Café – When we think of a café today, we think of establishments like Starbucks. In 17th century England, cafés were referred to as “Penny Universities.” These were places where—for the price of a cup of coffee (a penny)—anyone could come together to discuss matters of politics, science, literature, and religion.

4:12 – This is a reference to 1 Timothy 4:12, which reads, “Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” Youth have an important role in the ministry to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

These two words combined reflect our ministry to Our Savior’s youth and their families. Café 4:12 is a place for Our Savior’s youth to come together for ongoing faith-based discussion and learning. In addition, Café 4:12 youth live out their faith together in missional activities throughout the year.
