Gloria Kane - Accompanist
Gloria Kane was born and raised in Wisconsin and had 6 years of private organ and piano lessons. Martha Thomsen, wife of Pastor Harry Thomsen, gave her an opportunity to play on the church organ when she was quite young and that was her start in musical training. Her parents provided her with lessons and her first organ. To show her interest in continuing to play, her parents offered to buy a 2nd, larger organ, but only if she contributed what she had in savings, which wasn't much. Later, Gloria bought on her own organ, which was a church size model. Gloria didn't intend to play in church, but when the organist before her moved to another part of the State, the church recognized that they had someone in the congregation that could possibly fill those shoes. Gloria will tell you “I really didn't intend to play for church, but reflecting back it was God's hand on this journey--it's been 50+ years of playing for the church and the Lord”.
